3 AA red stars and AA 3 food rosettes

English Tourist Board - Three Star Gold Award
AA Heart of England Cellar of the Year 1999

Good Hotel Guide - "This gabled, red brick Edwardian ex-parsonage, now a hotel/restaurant (Pride of Britain), was liked by a regular Guide correspondent in 2003 for 'its food and friendliness'. The owners, since 2001, David and Sarah Blakstad, are continuing their renovations. The bedrooms (some have views of Shropshire countryside) are named after local hamlets: Claverley, Shipton, Chesterton, etc. The best rooms, in the coach house, are 'really something: spacious, comfortable, and containing everything you could possibly need'. The Guardian Weekend - "not only has the wine list been chosen with unusual discrimination but it has also been priced with rare consideration. The raw materials for the food are sourced with the same diligence as the wine"

Which Hotel Guide - "cosseting Country House hotel in a thoroughly rural spot - a classic of its kind"

Decanter - " the wine list is splendid and annotated well"

Egon Ronay - "Regional wine cellar of the year and best cheese board"

Paddy Burt, Daily Telegraph - "This critic can only report that her experience was very pleasant indeed"

Shirley Tart, The Shropshire Magazine, July 2004 - "As fine a dining experience as you'll get."
